Our Mission
To actively engage in providing appropriate and quality
services to individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities
through the implementation of needed programs to residents in Queens and other
boroughs in order to promote consumer individuality, independence, productivity
and community inclusion.

Company Profile
In 1992, a group of parents of sons and daughters with
mental retardation and developmental disabilities, under the leadership of
Ana Magalee, organized to provide support and assistance to other families with
members who have disabilities. With guidance from the Queens Developmental
Disabilities Service Office of the New York State Office of Mental Retardation
and Developmental Disabilities, the Queens Parent Resource Center opened an
office staffed entirely by parent volunteers. During the first year, hundreds of
parents and professional people called to obtain information, referrals,
assistance and support. In March 1994, the Queens Parent Resource Center became
incorporated as an independent, not-for-profit agency and began its growth into
the full-service agency it is today. The volunteer parents
continue to serve by sharing experiences and knowledge.
